The IOA Annual Meeting provides a great opportunity for members to connect, network, and help strengthen Iowa’s organic community. The program will focus on highlights from 2019, sharing our updated Strategic Plan, developing priorities for the coming year and hearing from you about important organic issues and experiences.
We are excited to welcome Erin Silva, Ph.D. with OGRAIN, and Carl Rosier, Ph.D. and Kristine Lang, scientists with Rodale and the Midwest Organic Center, to introduce their work around organic with IOA members and the organic community. Hy-Vee is graciously sponsoring an organic meal and the chef will be on-site to share details about the meal.
IOA is working with the Organic Farmers Association to deliver a 2019 Presidential Forum, “Combating Climate Change with Organic and Regenerative Agriculture," as part of the program.
Each candidate has been offered 2-3 minutes to share with the audience components of their agriculture platform that support regenerative and organic agriculture. Iowa organic farmers will ask candidates vetted questions about their policies—questions that get at the heart of the issues Iowa family farmers are facing throughout the state and representative of issues farmers face nationwide.
We have invited all presidential candidates to attend and are in contact with several campaigns. We will keep you updated through eNews, Facebook and the website as details further develop.
Registration is CLOSED - we are at capacity. The Annual Meeting is no-cost to members and $20 for non-members - the public is welcome to attend.
