Early Morning Harvest Open House and Demonstrations
Panora, Iowa - Saturday, November 23rd

Panora, Iowa. The Iowa Organic Association (IOA) is partnering with Earl and Jeff Hafner at Early Morning Harvest for their annual Fall Harvest Open House in Panora, Iowa on Saturday, November 23 between 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Hafners are providing a learning opportunity for farmers and others interested about organic production, processing and distribution at their farm.

Early Morning Harvest is a small diverse family farm that includes vegetables grown in an aquaponics greenhouse, pastured poultry for egg production and flours made from certified organic cereal grains (wheat, rye, buckwheat, and corn meal) produced on the farm. The Hafners process their organic grains in their own mill and distribute the organic flour and baking products in their on-farm store, on their website and through local coops and contracts.

Visitors are welcome to tour farm, greenhouse, mill and on-farm store anytime between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

At 3 p.m. Jeff will give a presentation on “Overcoming Potential Soil Imbalance with Tissue Testing and Foliar Feeding” in addition to a sewing demonstration and many different food samples highlighting local products provided in the farm store.

This is a great time of year to stock up on your organic baking products right before holiday season, and a great way to support your local farmer!

The Fall Harvest Open House provides an opportunity to hear first-hand from experts and peers about the experiences, opportunities and challenges for organic transition and expansion.
