Polk Soil and Water Conservation District will be hosting a “Biology for Soil Health Workshop” on July 10th in Indianola at the Middleswart Lodge.  We will learn about how soil biology affects soil and crop functions, view soil biology under the microscope and explore ideas on how to increase biology in the soil using cover crops, compost (Johnson-Su bioreactor) and compost extracts.  We will showcase local farmers that are currently using regenerative principles using soil biology.  We will also include a short Workshop on how to build a Johnson-Su Bioreactor and a Tour of a local Compost Company – Midwest Soil Restore. This is an indoor event with lunch being served.
